How "Bridgerton" is influencing wedding trends.
I admit it, I didn't know what to expect. But after all the non-stop action I was in full-blown (and well deserved) Christmas day recovery mode. Ready to enjoy my new PJs, fuzzy slipper-socks, and a steaming cup of cocoa (with a just a slap of Kahlua). The problem? I'd already seen everything on my watch list.
And then it happened, yes, I was hooked from the first episode. I thought to myself, "Why didn't anyone tell me about this show?" Well, I'm here to tell you on the record - get ready for The Brigerton Effect. The Duke, Daphne, and the impact of the visuals of this series on wedding & event design planning.
The new Netflix series "Bridgerton" has just finished it's first season with over 62 million viewers. Brigerton is visually stunning, intriguing, sexy and Regency period series with all the things you'd expect of a Shonda Rhimes (yes, "Grey's Anatomy" Shonda Rhimes) so of course it has a few fun twists. But, as I watched it, my seasoned event designer's eye was triggered. I realized the show actually ticks so many boxes for upcoming wedding and event trends. More than that, it was clear that it would be a source of spectacular inspiration for designers, planners, and couples begining this next year.
You'll notice too. As you review the 2021 Wedding Trends Report you'll see them in many of the 30 trends to watch throughout the series. And I'm talking about more than any wedding scene (lots of greenery and white flowers)
Color: Alluring yellows and other juicy color (2 of the many upcoming trends for 2021)
Color: Cascades of greenery along with white roses, pastel wisteria and other softer hues
Concept Lighting: Tons of candles in strategic clusters and event sparkler effects
Food & Beverage: Open-air, outdoor dining as receptions or carefully curated vingettes
Just a few of trends I saw in the newly released 2021 Wedding Trends Report (download a copy of the guide in this email). So, what trends did you spot? Are there any trends you're excited about seeing? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
If you had any questions please remember, I'm only an email away.
